If you have a lot of blowby, you'll have the oily air cleaner syndrome-pop your oil fill cap while running(especially when warmed up) and see if you are blowing out smoke-these engines seem to be infamous for ring/cylinder problems. I am running synthetic engine oil in a desperate attempt to avoid a rebuild-some members swear it helps the compression leakage problem over time(coked up compression rings ). Good luck, must be something about '82s
