The fuel is winterized and doesn't have great firing properties right now. That may be part of the reason.

Yeah.
The car defintely has its good days and its bad...sometimes it feels real peppy, others not. The winter crap doesn't help
The diesel gets a pretty spiritied run almost regularly on the way to school and back haha!
Once and awhile I take it for a really long uphill go and get the engine niec and toasty. Runs smooth as a purring kitten heh.
