I have done some research and found out the state of Pa. doesn't allow this type of furnace. I know people that have them but there is a huge fine if they get caught.

Pa. does allow open burning of household trash.

Cheers,

Bill

Those furnaces burn SOOO clean...they must not want them around becuase they wouldn't be able to control the cost of fuel for your heating one way or another.

Ecologically those furnaces make sense...I'd rather have the CO2 and other light emissions from these burners rather than the oil/grease/crap slick over open water or in the soil...

The friend of mine that has one says that they inject high pressure air into the fuel so that it atomizes well. He never has to touch the upper burner part (its in the roof of his shop) and all he deals with is the filter apparatus at the bottom in the big tank.

So simple...

Brandon, I am most likey going to go with it anyway. I'll just have to hide it good because I am installing it in my antique shop which, of course, is open to the public.

I just don't understand their open burning policy. Open burning of household trash puts an un-Godly amount of pollutants into the air. Pa. also has a seat belt law but not wearing a helmet when you ride your Harley is legal. Kinda the same type of thinking.

Cheers,

Bill

Yeah I can totally understand burning of trash (that is NASTY) and how it harms the environment.

Those things burn cleaner than my car and they are burning WASTE oils...of varying viscosities...amazing...

I can recommend one will treat you good. The only down side is that they cost a pretty penny.

My brother in law just found one for $100. He's scouting around for me at present.

I've run ATF in small quantities. A lot of folks here will tell you to fill your fuel filter with it when changing the filters. It's a great solvent and helps clean the fuel system. I'd be a little worried about metal particle with used ATF. So I'd still filter it to 1 micron before putting it in my tank. Do so searches, the ATF question has been asked many times before.

I second this motion, people PULLEEZE! Four year old threads should only be showing near the top IN searches. Searches, searching, SEARCH. There I said it. Learn it, know it, live it.

Just a question for those that are using WVO as a fuel in there cars. Do you all have a two tank system or are you blending the fuel with diesel (RUG).

I ask because I install two tank systems.

Man, if I could get used oil that was as clean and clear as the bottle on the right even I would use it I wonder how much that stuff costs...

Waste oil furnace, most need compressed air, and are not UL listed for home use. Can be used in a shop, garage etc. In an antique shop check local codes. I use only waste motor oil in mine, and save the WVO for the vehicles. Has anyone actually tried WVO in a waste oil heater?

I am using a two tank system on both vehicles that I run on WVO.

Diesel is not RUG, RUG is regular unleaded gasoline

I currently blend with diesel, about 50-50.
