Nooooooooo. I'd have loved to see that! :o :o They didn't mistreat/hurt the SDL did they? They have a reputation for doing that....if they wound a mercedes I'll have to lower my opinion of them.....

ForcedInduction 05-10-2006 10:21 PM

Mountain time, comes on in 40min here. *VCR is set* :D on my TVguide 9:00-10:00 is a rerun, 10:00-11:00 is the new.

They ran straigh veg through a mini tank that looks like they bolted it on the roof. I like the show but lost a little respect for them because they concluded that "anyone can dump the stuff in their tank and go with no modifications". There is a right way and a wrong way to go about running veg and not all of us have the luxury of living in sunny CA. They should have done more research before just dropping the stuff in the tank.

Hatterasguy 05-10-2006 10:30 PM

Correction, it was an SD.:D

blueranger 05-10-2006 11:01 PM

hello

i just drop it in my tank and go... drove a 120 miles today...

no big deal...at all.... so i guess they did the show for us rebels...

They did filter the WVO.

They taped it to the Benz, not bolted it. I dont know how you guys could lose respect for someone legitimizing the cause on national TV. They probably opened a LOT of peoples' eyes on this.

33.3 MPG on straight diesel, 30 MPG on WVO. Untreated (just filtered) WVO.

Sorry for the image quality sucking.

blueranger 05-10-2006 11:57 PM

exact

thats my exact car... and the wvo even looks like mine... filtered
but kinda brown...

Give it a few hundred miles and I bet they would need a new IP after the glycerin wears it out.

pawoSD 05-11-2006 12:15 AM

Yeah its not really mythbusting till they've driven the thing a thousand miles that way or so....and lets see them use it as a daily driver and not an experiment car on a runway. Theeen I'll admire what they did. :D

blueranger 05-11-2006 12:35 AM

i will take that bet

I will take that bet....

I drove my 83 300sd which is just like the one they used today...

i drove 120 miles.... on straight wvo.... i do 100 miles a day... lets
keep this thread open and bet on when my ip goes out...

so we can prove you nay sayers wrong..

OMFG. They have NO automotive skills. In the hydrogen fuel saver, the instructions were to attach the hydrogen directly to the carb. The BLOCKED the ENTIRE intake flow and tried to run the engine off the little hydrogen "tank". And they wondered why it didn't work.
