so i've always heard of the w210 body being very prone to rust, both structural and aesthetic. my questions being: where do they develop rust? what have owners done to prevent rust? i live in southern maryland, so we get snow, thus we get road salt. i'm very good about blasting built up salt/mud/road debris out of fender lips and other areas under the body. in my old pickups i would dump clean oil in the doors and in the cab corner areas with good success. i'd even gone so far as to paint the frame and metal parts with spent oil as a redneck undercoat.
