Can I get my paint code from my VIN#? In a hurry

Tomorrow I have to call my body shop and give him the color code for my car. My VIN # is...11612012009237. It is a 1979 300SD he replacing some rust around wheel wells with fiberglass but I need to know my paint code. I know it is on a stamp by the radiator but I don't really trust the guy over the phone to get the correct numbers.
Thanks
David

Paint code is, I think, a three digit number preceded by DB (my 280 SE is DB387, for example). It's on the body code plate by the hood latch, about the third or fourth line down.

Any automotive paint supplier can probably help you find the correct one.

EPC says paint code 903. Probably knows your shoe size if you give it your SS number

Check out www.paintscratch.com

You can probably find your color there by paint code number, then see if you can match up the paint code against a 3 digit number on the data plate by the radiator.

The paint code is usually the only 4 character code on the radiator frame - 3 numerics indicating the color and an alpha indicating the paint manufacturer. I've only ever seen G for Glasurit. EPC doesn't have the alpha.
