Young St. Garage

Hands down Young Street Garage. I've known them for over 7 years and they've been absolutely fantastic. Fully professional, polite to the extreme and absolutely 100% honest.

The've gone to such limits as dropping parts off to my home when I was stuck there working on my car, to dropping me off at the office when I bring in my car for work, to advice over the phone.

While they are not the cheapest in town, their rates are competitive and I would not bring my Benz anywhere else.

Call them at 613-234-2910 and ask for Bela or Kurt.

Need a good mechanic in the Montreal area. Anybody?

Claudel,

Depending on what you want or need, I use an independent guy in Calgary called Heinz. His shop is called H D Motors (Tel: 403-263-3412). He is good for most stuff but I do not take anything to him that is going to need a stamp in the owners manual - for that I go to either Hyatt Mercedes or Lone Star Mercedes. Generally I have been happy with the service and results. His costs are reasonable.

Scott.

I've used another independant in Calgary. It is Stevo Auto Clinic, talk to Rob (403-287-1334). They do only German autos, and Rob does all the Mercedes. He's usually there on Saturdays too. Stevo was recommended to me by Lone Star Mercedes, late one Friday afternoon (after their own service dept had closed) when my window regulator broke.

Good shop in Toronto, Canada?

Does anyone know a good MB shop in Toronto? I checked old posts and they talk about this one guy up in Markham who used to work in HK.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Any other ones? I know there is a body shop near bloor and islington, but I could use a good mechanic on top of that.

Very Experienced Trained by MB

I recommend Charlie McNally, located around Keele and Finch. Call him at 416 398-6799. He is MB trained and runs an independent shop.

For all you Vancouverites

Apperently there's a good place on 24th and Main (I think) called Pemberton Motors. One of my teachers has a W126 and he said that he's been with them for 30 years. Apparently one of the original owners was a guy from Germany who either was a Mercedes engineer, or was trained by one. I doubt he's still there, but I'm pretty sure he passed on his knowledge to the others. Anyways, they pretty much specialize in Benz, so that's a plus. You can also get all your original parts back from them, and they'll tell you before they buy anything or do any repairs. The only thing is, they charge $50 an hour. I don't know if that's a good price or not, but the way they seem now it looks pretty good.

That's pretty cheap Unit 420, I use an independent in Abbotsford that charges $70 an hour.Their very good as well and can rebuild auto trans and engines at their shop. They have courtesy cars as well.I think that any shop that treats the customer fairly and honestly is worth it's weight in gold.

Shop in Mississauga (Clarkson)

I've tried most of the shops in the area and the best one is Clarkson Fine Cars. Andy is the owner and really knows his stuff. If he doesn't know, he'll figure it out by researching (rather than practicing on your car or just "guessing")

He's on Clarkson Rd, just north of Lakeshore in Mississauga. If you know where the Clarkson GO station is, he's just east of there. Let me know if you need me to dig up his phone # as I don't have it handy right now.

I live at Dundas & Neyagawa.. I drive a black 300SDL and it's probably the only one in Oakville so I'm sure you've seen me around..

Neal

PS. If you talk to Andy, tell him Neal with the black 300SDL sent you.. I'm sure he'll remember the Neutral Safety Switch problem last winter and the weird wheel bearing noise last summer on my car.
