98 E320: Does it have separate stock amp hidden somewhere?

I'm wondering if the 98 E320 with the becker 1692 hu has an additional factory amp hidden behind the rear seat cushion. Can anyone confirm my suspicions?

If it has an amplifier it will be above the left rear wheel and can be accessed from the trunk behind the left side trunk liner.

I see something mounted above the LR wheel well, which looks like a 5x5x2 metal with fins. Might that be it? Just wondering because my brother's 2000 E320 does not have this....but seen on my 1999 E320.

Sounds like that might be what i'm looking for. Thank you so much for pointing it out. I have a 98 e320 so i'll be looking into re-hooking up my sony hu thru the amp's connectors. Hopefully i'll be able to get a cleaner sound this time!
