Nice head unit for my 190E

Just purchased a new head unit to replace the factory unit and I am very happy with it.

It is a Blaupunkt Phoenix MP33. I liked it for it simple looks (no flashy lights / strobes etc.) and because it a volume knob instead of the new style buttons. The ability to play MP3s, its good tone with the factory speakers and a cost of $149 just made it perfect.

I recommend it.

Good deal !
I've been looking for a cd/MP3 player for my 240D, this one looks like it'd do the trick nicely (and maintain the cars german heritage =)

I don't know about the German Heritage thing, the last Blaupaunkt I saw was made in Japan. Check your box and let us know where it was made.

I don't have the box (it was installed at an audio dealer) but the manual was printed in Germany.

I had a Blaupunkt Austin CD41 X-Line (now have a Casablanca CD52 Funline made in Portugal) and I remember looking on the unit itself seeing it was manufactured in China, or Japan, not sure. The Blaupunkt OverDrive speakers I have are made in China. Maybe the Velocity devision of Blaupunkt are still made in Germany? But anyway the sound quality is a lot better compared to the old 2ch Becker unit and 4 4" paper speakers.
