high end from front speakers appears when radio volume cranked

Hi,

I have a recently acquired 91300e with the Becker stock radio cassette and 10 CD changer. The sound does not have much treble until I turn up the volume and then back down which somehow kicks in the high end coming from the fromt speakers. Any ideas on what this may be?

Thanks, Dave

If that modle has a volume knob it soundes like there is an issue with dirty contacts on the wiper.....common problem as they age. If it has the up/down buttons it sounds like an electrical issue. Either case is going to involve a radio repair....TThis has stock speakers am I correct....and not coaxial ones..

radio high end cutting out

As far as I know the speakers are stock. Think it may be a speaker issue? Maybe I just need to play my system loud for a few days!

Well a speaker cutting in and out might be a speaker....only the treble cutting in at higher levels might be a speaker issue IF they were Coaxial speakers ............

But if your speakers are stock they are likely not coaxial....and in my opinion the problem becomes more likely the head unit (radio) but keep in mind this is just a guess. I have an electronics background and I am basing that on what I have seen and experienced in the past.

Neither of these typically fix themselves unfortunately.
