I recently installed an Eclipse AM/FM/CD and four new speakers in my '82 300D (w123), and now my battery drains if the car sits for more than 24 hours. I am positive that the deck is wired correctly, and I ran a wire directly to the battery for the constant power supply. Would the higher power requirements of the new deck amplifer vs. the stock Becker unit overtax the alternator's charging capacity to the point that it would drain the battery, or would it have something to do with the constant power supplying the radio's memory? I am at a loss on this one.
