CD Changer question

Sorry if this has been asked before...

I have a 1998 C230. Is this car pre-wired for a CD changer? The head unit is the same as the one in a later C280 I looked at, that had a CD changer. (i.e. it has the same changer controls) It is a non-Bose system. If it is pre wired, where do I find the cable(s)? I see a few of these changers on ebay, and I just don't want to buy one if I can't use it.

Usually the wire is behind the carpet panel under the left trunk hinge.
It is easy to remove the carpet panel.

1994 to 1998 can use the same cd changer the radio protocol is the same on all mercedes model from 94 to 98 and some 99
