Where is the fiber cable on my '03 ML500

Hi,
I'd like to upgrade my MCS with a cd changer since it's anoying that I can't listen to CD's when my NAV DVD is running. The Dealer says it's prewired but I didn't find the wires yet. They want to charge $1,300 for a cd changer with installation. Sounds very expensive.
Is there an aftermarket cd changer that is compatible? Are there some that can play MP3's?
I saw some on ebay but which model #'s are compatible with my MCS?
MC3010, MC3110, MC3111, MC3198 (What are the differences?)
