Opinions of the Becker 1432

What is the group's opinion regarding the sound quality and reception of the Becker 1432 system (when working properly)? I am aware of the reliability issues, but I picked up a whole system (including wiring harness) from an extremely nice 92 300E at the wreckers for next to nothing. The vehicle had been garaged so it wasn't exposed to extreme temperatures which dry out the electrolytic capacitors. Came with the Alpine CD changer.
Planning to put it in wife's 89 260E. CD would be an improvement over the RF modulator coupled one that is in there now. Radio head would still retain the original look.
