CD-R and Becker CD Changer
I have a w124 with a becker 10 disc CD changer in back that actually works! (I hear that is relatively rare).
It does not seem to play CD-Rs however. It trys, but the sound gets super static-y as if it really bad radio station reception or really blown speaker, or somewhere in between. Commercial CDs work great. And, as an exception, I have a few CD-Rs that are made with a special, high-reflective, gold surface (made by Apogee in the UK, and maybe here; they are the best, btw if you are into that sort of thing). They play fine as well. Just some interesting info. Anyone ever try to clean the lens of one of these with one of those CD-lens clear discs, or am I asking for a world of hurt.
