Radio Code
 

Just bought '86 560SEL w/ 53,000 miles. The radio has dashes on the display. Could the code have been lost if the car was without power for an extended period of time? What information do I need to get the code?

6/5/07 - I got a code from local Mercedes dealer. But it doesn't seem to work. The radio has 4 dashes showing on the display.

the radio doesn't use a code, there is a special tool required to reset it, the face plate has to be removed, and the little tool used, see picture below
