Why Would Pwr Antenna Assy Has 6 Elec. Wires?
 

Was trying to fix my power antenna on my '80 300SD. Once I opened it is became clear that this one can't be fixed because of rust. But I don't understand why the assembly has 6 electical wires going to it. The signal wire is seperate from these 6. I guess I thought it might have only 2 wires like a window switch. +/- in one way to go up and -/+ in the other way to go down. Does anyone know what these all do?

I know this is different than yours, but on the W126,the wires control the automatic medium up, manual full up, manual full down and the two hots for the motor...

I guess because the germans tend to make our lives harder.
