cd Changer e430 2000
I just purchased a cd changer throught E-bay and was told, later by a friend that worked on Mercedes that the radio has to be set-up or programmed to except a cd changer. Is this true and or can anyone help me.
Thanks E430 2000 |

True.
Not sure what year or what models this procedure implemented. That's why I like my older 500SEC so much. Reprograming is not a worry for me on this model. Do a search (using the serch link at the top of the page) on battery replacement too. If not done properly by keeping you car's electrical "alive" during the replacement, you may have to reprogram again. I found out the hard way with my S500. Good luck. |

All this to say, I don't need to reprogram anything when I switch back and forth between the iPod control and CD changer (by unplugging at the back of the head unit). If yours isn't working, it could be you got the wrong changer type?
