What choices for a CD changer for '93 300e
Is there a plug and play CD changer for my 1993 300e 2.8 with a 1432 OEM radio? Would I need extra wiring harnesses and connectors, or would it really be plug and play?
Assuming there is such an animal, where do you suggest I go to locate one? Thanks for your help! |

Steve - I believe that the 1432 had an optional CD changer available in the trunk. I also think the changer was a re-branded Alpine changer, model number CHM-5620. It's an 8-pin M-bus changer. You can check in your trunk and see if you can find the cable. Ebay might have a changer.
If you are interested, I have an Alpine CHA-S624 6-disc changer in mint condition that I am willing to sell cheap (don't need it for my E430). It is an Ai-Net changer. I have the Ai-net cable, but you would have to buy an Ai-net to M-bus adaptor. They're cheap, usually around $20-30. Just PM me if interested.

I have a Blauplunk 1692 in my 94 e320. It comes with the harness into the trunk. I'm using an Alpine CHM-S630, but it required an adapter cable from Crutchfield. My head unit controls the CD player. Best to call Crutchfield regarding adapter cable and CD player.
