Becker 780 Grand Prix WTB

All,

My 88 560SL stock radio has given it up. Low noise clicking when off, then put a tape in then loud clicking and tape ejected. No obvious internal problems (broken gear etc.)

Anyone have one to sell? I do not want to change the look of the dash and Becker NA estimates 150.00 but maybe more.

I have a 780 becker radio that appears to be in great shape. I replaced my 1480 radio with this unit. On my old 1480 the antennea went up when you turned on the radio. With the 780 the antennea does not go up. On your 560do you have a seperate switch on the shift console for the antennea? If I can't use this radio we could work something out. The radio works perfectly but I cannot get the seek and scan button to pickup any stations. This could be because the antennea is not up. I will rig an antennea and see if this the problem and let you know.
