Hey Guys, this is my first post so I apologize ahead of time for leaving out anything that might be need to help solve my problem.
Anyways, I just bought a new pioneer head unit and would like to use the original wiring but bypass the fader and using the four channels of the head unit. Is this possible? If so how? Thanks.

There is a post on how to remove your stereo, speakers, and fader under the DIY tab at the top of the page. The fader wiring looks like this:

You can unplug it from the front speakers, old head unit, and rear speakers up by the ash tray. Use the rear speaker connecters and a multimeter to determine which speaker is which in back, or do a search on color codes for the wiring.

You can just leave the switch in place and disconnected, or modify it as discussed in the article to be an 'aux in' for MP3, etc.

Those might be the center tabs from the fader control to feed the amplifier for the AktivBass subwoofers in the doors.

I had assumed they were the power leads for the fader illumination, but I have never checked it. There is a LED or miniture lamp in the fader switch. I don't have the ActivBass in my 87, just 2 dash and two rear speakers, so ???
