Now that everything works, I plan to install the changer in the trunk. I was considering the rear parcel shelf - attaching the changer to the underneath of the First Aid box.
What with the speaker cut-out holes, there are few options on where to site this thing. Can anyone suggest a good place? |
Neil, I am glad you got it figured out! Let me know if I can help in the future, keep an eye on your radio as your model is notorious for having @50 defective capacitors on the main board. It will be obvious when they decide to leak as you will get lots of popping and static through your speakers. My repair shop can handle it for you if or when it happens. I usually install the cd changer in the factory location in the right side pocket behind the wheel well in the trunk mounted verticle. Remeber to check your suspension springs in the cd changer before you mount it!

Do you fix to the floor or side-wall (of the spare wheel well). Eitherway, the brackets supplied with the changer do not seem to provide a good fit for this location. Do you know of a suitable fixing kit? Thanks. |
I make an aluminum bracket to mount it but if you want to do it yourself I would got to the hardware store and buy two steel right angle brackets Like shelf supports 3/4 inches wide by 5" by 5" with holes in them and with a hack saw cut both of them off on one end and leave about an inch and a half. The 1 1/2" part will support and extend over the edge and the 5" part will attach to the alpine mounting brackets. (you will have to do some drilling to both mount the alpine brackets to the rt angle brackets and mount the rt angle brackets to the horizontal edge next to the spare tire. I hope you can understand this procedure.

Alpine 620 and BE1432 2pc unit
I have a '92 300 TE with the 1432 2pc unit which I want to install the Alpine 620 cd changer. Could someone describe a step by step instruction on installing the changer and what other cables/periferals do I need to get?
thanks, Vio |
