Okay gang, this is in my '91 560SEL.
I parked the car a few years back and the system worked. I took the radio out to replace the center vacuum pod and never reinstalled the radio. Fast forward to modern day. Radio in... punched in code... nothing. ![]() Attempted incorrect code on purpose and main headunit blinked off, then on with CODE again. So this would mean my code is correct, right? There is power at the trunk unit, fuses good. I installed an extra trunk unit I pulled from the JY, same thing. Any ideas?

Be sure the gray data cable has a good connection at both ends. Does the car have a CD changer?

No changer.
The grey DIN cable is secure on both ends. I cannot see how it could have deteriorated just sitting idle. ![]() I am frustrated to say the least.

Is the fuse on the tuner good? Can you hear it click when you turn on the headunit?

Yes, fuses good in both HUs. I have even checked the fuse for continuity. It accepts my code.

I had the same exact problem with the 1432 headunit when I bought my car. Trying to remember the fix...

Becker 1932 Incorrect CODE
From the Operation Guide:
After one incorrect code is entered, the system allows two more recoding attempts. After the third attempt, the word WAIT is displayed. A period of 15 minutes must pass and the word CODE must again be displayed before recoding can be successful. The radio must be left on during this period. If the correct code has not been entered after three separate attempts- and therefore after two 15 minute wait intervals- the radio will lock for 24 hours to prevent any further recoding attempts. The radio must be left on during this period in order for it to re-enter the code mode. I rec that you disconnect the battery, reconnect the battery, let the radio sit powered on for 24 hours, and then renter the correct code. Bummer. |

Uh, it is not a code issue.
