Hey guys, many people have asked me where they can find a changer for their '98 ML320, instead of going to the dealership and paying a grip for it. Any ideas? I'd really appreciate it.

I use the Alpine CHM-S611 in my 98 E430. The dealer installed it and it was cheaper that the MBZ changer.

Kevin,
Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. Another thing: Do we have to buy any adapters or plugs since in this case, the car is a '98 ML320 instead of a E430? Also, how much dod MB charge you for installing the changer? Where is the best place to mount it? |

I think Kevin may be mistaken (my apologies), but I remember hearing that the 1998 ML320 has a Panasonic Radio and is different from the other MB models of that year. I was told that the Alpine model which you mentioned would fit all MB's BUT the ML (it's in my CLK). I think if you search the archives, you'll find other posts on this subject.

Go to Al & Ed's... you should get out the door for less than $400.00. That is assuming that your car doesn't require the fiber optic link.

The brackets allow correct mounting. Or You can go to any car stereo store and buy the Panasonic changer with the Peripheral protocol adaptor. The adaptor comes with brackets. |

so it's a definite that the '98 ML 320 uses the Panasonic Changer? And if so, which model? Thanks in advance again.
