The antenna in my wife's '92 190-E 2.3 stopped working a few weeks ago. We took the car in for service and had the (independent) shop look at it. They told us that the drive belt broke and that they would have to replace the entire antenna unit to fix it. $150 for parts, $90 for labor. OUCH!
I understand that some units have a replacement belt that you can buy.. why not this one? Has anyone ever tried some other type of belt (belt off of a small vacuum cleaner for instance) or found a decent replacement rather than bending over and replacing the whole unit? Anxiously awaiting a way to save the $$. Thanks in advance. ------------------ Jay Yambrovich 1989 300 E 1992 190-E 2.3 |
