Hirschmann antenna 1991 420SEL not working Interchange ??
The control unit inside the antenna is fried. I found two burned diods and attempted to replace them, but no luck. The part number on this antenna is 1268200275. According to EPC this antenna part numer is a one year only antenna used in 91. Before that part number 1268200375 was used. Im not sure what the difference is, but the antennas that I see for sale on ebay are only claiming compatibility up to 90', and I can not find any that match my part number. Is there anywhere I can buy a new or good used controller for my antenna? I feel like I have seen several 124 and Gen II W126 with antenna issues where the controller burns, and I have not been able to find any info on the issue.

If there is an aftermarket antenna replacement I am interested. I had mine ('86 420SEL) reworked once and it has quit again. after 26 years I doubt it is worth repair. I got a new radio; now I need an antenna that works.
My car is a "keeper" which I drive occasionally, both to enjoy and to keep it limbered up. I want everything to work, and complete originality is not 100% necessary; probably not even possible after 26 years.
