Needed : Radio help on 95 E320 wagon
Ok, so backstory:
I originally replaced the factory radio as I wanted modern capabilities, the lights didn’t work, and I didn’t have the code. So I purchased an Alipne unit, ISO wire adapter, and antenna wire adapter. Installed it all, radio connected to the air waves, antenna operated as it should, but no sound was coming out of the speakers at all. I removed it all, and happened to be having a couple beers with my MB mechanic friend last night & mentioned my issues. He offered to get the code for me today so I could diagnose where the issue is. So I reinstalled the factory radio, put the code in, and the radio works, but I found some of the buttons don’t work, and then noticed the antenna does not raise, and I’m still getting no sound out of the speakers at all. At this point I’m assuming that the amp in the passenger side floor board (car is a US 95 E320 wagon) is dead. But wouldn’t the dash and rear door speakers still work? Seeing as the amp only powers the front door midbass speakers. I’m getting no sound at all anywhere in the car. Any ideas where to start to diagnose this issue??? Thanks in advance! |

i installed an aftermarket Sony and it powered on and acted like it was working but no sound.....i then took a known good unit from another Merc and same thing....my issue was that i needed to manufacture a trigger wire for the amp (premium sound) and it worked great after that.....i don't know if you're going to be able to benefit from that since the orig radio doesn't work either
