No one provided any feedback in car audio so I am trying Tech Help.....I have a 94 E320 and I am contemplating changing our stock radio to add a radio/cd combo. I like the single cd/radio units versus a cd changer in the trunk.
I have look at a fe wpalces but would like some suggestions. I am no audiophile by any stretch but would just like to be able to listen to some CD's, CDR, CDRW and maybe some mp3's. The mp3's is not crucial but it would be a nice extra feature. I'd like to stay under or around $175... any thoughts on this one... http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-frfdHqt06yu/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=300&I=110MP3310&o=p&a=1 The look is somewhat too techno but it seems to have alot of features. I would like a "plain jane" subdued look if I can find one....kind of like a stock unit. |

Unfortunately, not too much out there looks like the stock units, except other Beckers http://www.beckerelectronics.com , some Nakamichi units, and a few Pioneers. Usually these are pretty expensive, and I hear the Nakamichis have some CD/reliability problems. The only unit I have seen recently that does the MP3/CD/CDR/CDRW/WMF combination, doesn't look TOO tacky, and is under $300 is the Blaupunkt MP3000. http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-3slJrImwvtd/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=62700&I=023MP3000&o=m&a=0 It is about $179 at Costco in our area (but different Costcos seem to carry different goods! - May not be in your area).
If I am not mistaken, your factory head unit has seperate amplifiers for some of the speakers. Wiring may require a search of past threads and some further posting on your part.
