Replacement phone
 

I am trying to find out where I can purchase a replacement phone for a 2001 600 SL and which type of phone it is compatable with. We have a Startac from a previous 500 SL but I don't think it will work. I've not received any help from our local dealerships....help!

when you say "replacement phone" do you mean that the car was delivered with a phone, but that it is now missing?

The only phone that will work with the Mercedes Integrated Phone option is a phone from Mercedes, because Motorola sells them to Mercedes with unique software/hardware, which is necessary to operate the phone. for example, let's say the phone option for your car was a Motorola Timeport. You would need a Motorola Timeport phone from Mercedes to make it work. If you happened to have a Timeport phone that you got from another source, I am not aware of any way to make it work with your car. If your car came with the optional integrated phone, and you are missing just the portable handset/phone part, you should be able to order one through your Mercedes dealer, Expect to pay mega dollars for it, but that is the only way you will be able to use the integrated features of the car/phone combination.
