Tasteful headunit for 107 SL's???

Has anyone found a tastefully designed headunit that looks good in 107 SL's. im looking for one for our 380SL. Just need a basic CD player but don't want any junk.

Your tips and pictures of your headunits in your SL would be great!

99 E300 had the CD unit in the trunk. Hated it. Only held 6 CD's and if you felt like a different style of music you had to stop the car and go to the trunk.

I just bought a Sony unit, Model CDX-M630. A more conservative looking unit. I don't want a video show on the SL dash. The majority of the CD units are designed for the younger market. No disco shows for me, at least not anymore. Besides I've recycled all my polyester Leasure Suits at the oil recycling plant *G*.

The graphics on the display can be turned off. Remote? I'd have to reach further for the remote than to the actual control head. Why do you need a remote in a car stereo???

I have not installed it yet. To busy with the 300TD right now.

How about the Becker Mexico Pro CD? It looks like it would be at home in the dash of any pre-1995 Mercedes.

My contribution to the choice of HU is...

...an older model Blaupunkt, the Denver, which I searched for and finally got on EBay. It coordinates beautifully with the dash of my 380SE. There's not a lot of HU's out there in black and white.

Sorry, picture didn't come up

For some reason, if you 'attach file', then preview, you lose the file. And, the picture doesn't show in the preview.

Hey Speedy300Dturbo.

The radio looks very nice but it seems
complicted to.
You need to be an engineer to
decipher all the info on the screen.

wow thanks everybody! those are some GREAT options. you're making my decision even harder.

Speedy300DTurbo, that Becker Mexico Pro CD looks to be the most cosmetically appealing to me. I was recently on their site and it seems they no longer cell CD recievers. I guess I could pick up a used one. I hope that reciever has a better reputation than the originals.

Check out the headunit I just bought for my 300TD. I think it is stunningly attractive, even though it may not seem at home in the w123.

The PO of my 560sl installed an Eclipse unit which functions very well and has a one disc slot. Here is the web site of the company -- its a Fujitsu company.

http://www.eclipse-web.com/

My unit looks a bit more conservative than some of their higher end units -- I figure its at least two years old. It is my understanding that the local MB dealership installed it in the car. -- Take a look at what they have.

Have you thought about the becker 1492/1692 or its Alpine equivalent.
