Speaker replacement for front driver side on w124...

Hey everyone. I am trying to install a set of components in the front of my car. The passenger side install was easy, but on the driver's side, I can't figure out a way to pass wires down through the dash so I can plug them into my crossover. The AC vent seems to be covering things up, and the bottom of the dash has a plastic plate covering everything which I can't really figure out how to remove. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I don't know how much different your vehicle is, but mine has the cover on the bottom...There are TABS in the back (2 I think) that can be taken out by actually bending the plastic down and towards the back of the car...You can then run wires through the open hole after removing speaker...No easy feat, but it worked for me...
