I want to play more MP3s ... Scott! Help!
Scott:
A couple of months ago I had your shop (La Jolla Audio) replace my Becker Head Unit and CD Changer with an Alpine 7894 (XM/MP3) and an Alpine MP3 CD Changer. I'm really enjoying both units, though I know there is room for improvement on the speaker front. My question is, can an Apple iPod MP3 player be connected to the Head Unit ... via Ai-Net or equiv?

Norm, yes it can. It requires an aux input device to switch between the cd changer and the mp3. I usually keep this accesory in stock! Give us a call and we will be glad to take you to the next level!

Scott:
I just saw this player on the Alpine website. 16 GB, Ai-NET player is just what I'm looking for. Though I really like the Apple iPod, especially at 20 GB, I was concerned with the mounting and track selection of the iPod. Now, since this new Alpine piece is Ai-NET, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Alpine 7894 Head Unit should control the Disk Drive unit (similiar functionality as the Alpine MP3 CD changer). When you get one in your shop, please let me know so I can get a demo.

I will let you know! I will warn you that it will be rather pricey. There is no price set on it yet and I probably wont see one till April.
