E420 CD changer installation
I just got hold of a MB CD changer from a 1998 ML and want to install it in a 1994 E420. The car's existing radio has a CD button on it. Can I assume that the trunk has been pre-wired for a CD changer, and if so, where in the trunk does the wiring terminate?
I could not locate it upon checking casually. Thanks, Paul |

First of all the cd changer you have is made by panasonic (from the ml) and is not compatiable with the alpine logic in the 94 e 420. The cable is usually on the drivers side of the car next to the power antenna motor above the LR wheel well behind the side trim panel. It is a 10 pin rectangular black connector. I fyou want a cd changer that works with your car your best bet is to buy a brand new alpine and an adapter cable and you will be done. Let me know if you want one as I do sell them!

What I did to my 95 e320 (should be same as yours).
Buy a m-bus alpine changer ($60 used from ebay) Buy a cable adaptor ($19 from Crutchfield) Plug it in and voila! |

I report the same as above with exception of where I found the cable in my '95: left-side of trunk behind the cowl above the battery.
Bought the adapter and a new alpine unit $200 total. Regards, - Ryan
