W124 300CE Front & Rear Speakers

Does anybody know the diameters of the factory front and rear speakers for a 300CE, mine has different ones installed by previous owners which need replacing.
Any help much appreciated

The speaker size is different than normal, it is @ 4.75 inches.

w124 factory front rear speakers

I have available, in good working shape, the factory front and rear speakers for a 1988 300 E. I will sell them for $5.00 each plus actual shipping. E-mail me for details.
I have upgraded my car sound system after the Becker head unit scrambled itself to death. The dealer could not revive it.
The replacement : head unit : Kenwood KDC-715 (4 x 22 w RMS ) , Kenwood 6 cd changer in the trunk, front speakers : Lansar 2 way 4"s( 50 w RMS ea.) and tweeters installed in the footwells , rear : Infinity kappa 2 way 5 1/4"'s(60 w RMS ea.) , sub woofers : 2 x 6" ( 50 w RMS ea.) mounted on rear shelf where the first aid kit used to be. The subs. are powered by a 2 x 75 w RMS amp. with electronic crossover installed under the rear seat. The amp. needed to be attenuated by at least 50% as there was way too much bass. There is no comparison between the factory system and this one. The sound is precise, clear, vibrant, punchy, loud without dirstortion if required and extremely pleasant to listen to. Since the cover for the first aid kit is still in place, the whole system is transparent ( nothing shows that its not factory standard except for the different head unit).
Ebay was the supplier(s) for all of the above. Cost in Canadian $ including S&H : less than $500.00 . The installation cost me many hours. I hope the car lasts as long as the sound system.
No pics, nothing worth shooting other than factory speaker grills!!

How did you fit the 5.25 infinitys in the stock rear openings? Wasnt the basket to big to fit through the holes int he metal shelf? I have some 5.25 compents I bought for back there so i ended up with 4" infinitys.

If your speaker openings are still the original size, I have a pair of Rainbow direct-fit speakers I'll sell you.

I bought a set of 4 from Scott last winter, but I've decided I don't need the rear fill. I'm going to keep the two fronts and use the rear speaker openings to port bass in from the trunk.

So far I've found the highs on the Rainbows a little harsh, but I'm going to try them with a really high quality power amp (and maybe some EQ) before I write them off. My head unit was cheap, so I wouldn't doubt that the power amp is distorting. I'm also going to install crossovers when I get the sub installed, which I can't help but think will improve the quality a little.

Jay,

Don't forget I'm interested in those also if they are available.

Looks like I'm going to hold off on selling the Rainbows. I have a design in mind, but it's going to have to wait a couple of months. I'm getting married at the end of September, so I can't really spend the money on the new stuff I want just yet. When the time comes to sell, I'll check with you guys and see if you're still looking.

Answer :
Sorry about the delay , I was away on vacation.
I did not use the baskets. The opening in the sheet metal was too small, so I had to cut some sheet metal to allow th 5.25 to sit on the metal shelf. I screwed the speakers to the metal shelf with metal screws so they would not bounce around when driving over bumps. Sound is nice and crisp but needs additional bass.
