560 SEL audio help

I be a NewB. Was hoping I could find some help about my cars audio setup. After our Becker tape deck died in an '89 560 SEL, we had Best Buy put in a pioneer cd head unit. Since then the audio is crap. And from what I can infer the speakers in the benzo are 4 ohms? And the pioneer head unit does work at that ohms...not sure exactly, but I do know it sounds like crap.


I feel that they bypassed the amps. Except, I can't figure out for the life of me how to get under those reclining back seats. And even if I do not sure what exactly to do.

Also, I got my hands on a box, 2 subs and 2 amps. I was hoping maybe to put those in. I actually have no idea about the specs of the car's factory equipment, but I would think these new amps are better. Some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is no amp in my 86 560SEL. Just the Becker power the speaker. Right now I have an Alpine with 45wx2, sounded much better than the old Becker. Plus the volume control on the Becker was a pain to adjust, either too loud or not loud enough. Too sensitive.
