Is there a procedure and recommended lubricant for a power antenna? It seems to stick periodically.

Hirshmann makes a lubricant that is sort of like a handi-wipe. Its a piece of paper with the lube absorbed into it. Stroking the mast cleans and leaves a proper lubricant.

Break-free and WD-40 are great alternatives. Just watch out for overspray. You may want to spray it on a towel, then apply.

What about the sicone dielectric grease used for connections on spark pug wires, etc. I can't remeber for sure but I belive I read on a tube of the stuff once that it would even improve radio reception. Anyone out there know for sure?

The key in antenna lubing is to not lube the belt or nylon spool cord inside the beast. The rubber belt used in most of the antennas since the early 80's doeasn't like lubricant. It destroys the rubber and causes it to slip/break.
