Mercedes audio system
For over 20 years people in the developed part of the world have been listening to music from Compact disc. If you own a Mercedes, chances are you also listen to your music from CD in your home. I one buys a new Mercedes, any model, it comes with a tape deck in the dash. The salesperson is coached by his sales manager to offer a six disc changer which hooks up to a preinstalled cable in the trunk, all for an absurd price. Subaru and other much less costly automobiles come with CD head units in the dash. Seriously, do Mercedes engineers really think that its American customer would want a tape/radio as standard equipment? It cannot be that they are not aware of the huge differences in the dynamic range, low frequency reproduction, clarity, and direct track access of CD? Maybe they haven't figured out that most owners of MBs replace the tape/radio with a CD head unit that might even control a 10 disc changer. P.
