92 190e head unit replacement help
 

I want to replace my head unit on my 190e. can I just get a wiring harness and bypass my amp and still use the same speakers? I currently have a mercedes/alpine unit.

I think you should be able to. I did the same thing on 2 3-series BMWs and got the wiring harness directly from Crutchfield.com You may want to call them and talk to a rep, as they seem knowledgeable.

I recently changed out my 190's system to an Eclipse, but found the front speakers to be so crummy (with a decent deck) that I ended up changing them as well. If so, I suggest the MBQuartz as reasonable replacements.

I think I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend. my head unit quit working and it is cheeper to get an aftermarket unit
