Becker Europa 72 280 SE 4.5

My car currently has the original Europa AM/FM stereo with amp underneath on top of the trans tunnel. Over the last few days it has just died like someone \pulled the plug. then all of a sudden a couple of minutes later, it came back on. No crackling or spuddering, just dead. Well yesterday it did the same thing and has not come back on yet. could this be a fuse? If so is there a fuse in the radio or amp separate from the main fuse box?

If I replace the radio, was this radio widely used? I have seen a Europa on ebay out of a late 70s car but does not seem to have the amp. Is it the same unit just without an amp? How long was the unit in my car available so I can hunt for it in salvage yards?
