I need help!
hi, all...
had mucho work done on my 94 E320 a couple of weekes ago, including battery replacement, so now I'm coded out of my radio (original radio, Ihave the code card as well as all the manuals). my question: instead of CODE, the radio says C--ERR. what the heck does that mean? is this a connection problem? do i have to leave the key in position 1 for 24 hours? it's killing me, not having any music! thanks... :( |
You may need to remove the radio and check the serial number to ensure the code you are inputting is for the radio in your car. Radios can be exchanged under warranty, as well the vehicle(s) can/will/do leave without the "new code!" Go figure........
If all numbers match than I believe you would need to leave the key in the #1 position for 1 hour. At that time you have one more attempt at getting the code inputted correctly. |
Thanks!
Well, I called the MB dealership that sold me the car, and the shop tech said the code I have is correct. But when I explained the C--ERR situation, he said, "Oops, no, something's not right. Come in, and we'll take a look at it for you. If you go to your local dealership [Brooklyn], they might charge you, so come to us [Nanuet]." I was told it could be as simple as unplugging the radio and plugging it in again. So Saturday I head up there. I'll let you know what happens!! :) |
Radio code problem
Alguerin,
First of all, you need to make the subject line of your posting more specific than "I need help". It'll get you a LOT more response. I think that you should check out http://www.beckerautosound.com/ . They do a lot of service and have a great help line. There's a guy who used to be here on the board that gave a lot of good (and free) adivce. Unfortunately, he wouldn't know to check out your posting because he wouldn't know you had a problem with your radio. they may be able to help you without you having to take a drive. It's worth a call I'd say. |
Thanks.
