ALPINE MULTI MEDIA STATION in W124 ??
I am keen to install an Alpine MMM HU in my W124. But I am concerned if it'll fit into the dash of a W124 since the stereo set is recessed inwards. The Alpine 6.5" screen is supposed to slide and flip up.
See link to HU. http://www.carreview.com/Mobile,Video/Alpine,CVA-1004/PRD_173926_1813crx.aspx Has anyone installed such a HU into a W124? Would appreciate some feedbacks. Thank you.

I was just looking at that unit last night. I'm pretty sure that it WON"T fit because of that reason - the stereo sits too far back in the console. The only way I believe you would be able to do it is if you somehow brought the HU forward some. Even then I think that the pernerndle (PRNDL) shift lever would be in the way for the display to retract out. Possibly if you were in low gear maybe. This HU just wasnt made for us MB owners in mind I guess.

you can fit it, but you have to do the following.
1. Build a custom spacer to space it out 2. build a cover to finish it off and bring the console down to the lower console wood level 3. no more ashtray. I was going to put a screen in my car, but didn;t want to dot he work to make it fit. though it is possible to do it. Alon
