Here's a great way I've just discovered to get my old rubber gleaming... simply rub paint thinners over the rubber, then use a proprietary rubber cleaner/polish on it.
When you first apply the thinners the rubber takes on a flat look, but the rubber revivor after makes it shine like crazy. My bumper strips and door mouldings come up like new! You need to be supercareful with the thinners as it will strip any paint it comes in contact with. I also use heavy rubber gloves to protect my hands. Just a tip.
