Can someone tell me the best way to take the old pinstripes off and replace with a new one? Need steps and details please. Thanks for your time. (by the way...what color of pinstripe(s) would look good with midnight blue exterior and blue interior-I drive a 89 420 SEL?)

Are your current pinstripes paint or vinyl graphic?

I think vinyl graphic??...doesn't look like paint. It was done at the factory I believe? Sorry, not much help here.

It would depend on the old ones. Since the old stripes have been there for quite some time I'm guessing the paint will have its own stripes once the pin-stripes are removed. This being the case you will have to re-stripe over the old lines very precisely. You may want to default it to a professional or bodyshop.
Hope this helps...Lee |
