Cleaning Inside of Winshield?

I have tryed many products to clean the glass on cars, windex, water, vinegar, and mothres chrome polish. They all work great but I have a problem. I think it is in the process that i use, after applying the product i wait and then polish off. My problem is that after I polish the glass it is never perfect. When you look at a bright object through the window it looks almost like small scraches are in the window, but only in the direction that you have been polishing in, vertical and horizontal. This can be seen very good at night when and on comming cars lights are shined at you.
I feel it is not the product but me.
What can I do or can I do anything?

One of the secrets to getting clean, streak-free interior glass is to buff it with a perfectly dry paper towel after you finish the process you just described.

If the dry paper towel doesn't do the trick try a very slightly damp terry followed by rebuffing with a dry terry. If you are using good terries there shouldn't be any lint just a streak free windshield. However, I've noticed that higher mile cars or ones that have been through a few salt-country winters have a tendency to have streaks in the windshield that are permanent.

I have the same problem.
I have noticed it gets worse if I smoke in my car.

I just use normal window cleaner spray and some paper towels. It seems to work ok.

Another thing you might want to try is just going over the glass again with cleaner. This sort of thing tends to happen to me when there's still vinyl gassing residue left on the glass, and a couple extra passes usually gets rid of it. The stuff can build up pretty well, and unless you regularly clean (every couple months for me) out the inside glass, it'll take a few runs to get it totally cleaned up. Also, try using newspaper instead of paper towels when wiping off the glass cleaner; it's less likely to streak and won't leave any lint.

I have tried the newspaper and it left the scrach looking marks. I have not used the terry cloth towel but I will. It is not streaks as much as like if you were to smug your finger arcoss the window, it almost looks like a thin layer of grease on the window.

Yeah, that's the vinyl residue (the greasy streaks). If you've never done it before, it'll take awhile to get it all off. Lee's recommendation (the terry cloth) also does a good job of taking it off.

My windshield gets occasionally grody, I use terry cloth towels...but the thing that I think makes the biggest difference is this cleaner called 'Dirtex', this stuff works wonders comared to a popular brand. I always find it alongside commercial supplies. One day I had a chance to compare 2 cleaners side by side, with the dirtex all I had to do was one run, and a buffing...with the other stuff I quit after 4 tries and reached for the dirtex. It will remove housepaint, so you really ought to go over your dash with a protectant to be sure that any overspray hasn't done any harm to your dash. My dash tends to need a cleaning usually around the same time as the windshield anyway, so I kill two birds with one stone. Seeing that you live in Largo makes me think that it maybe the outside of the window that is either weatherbeaten or possibly that film that you tend to get on your windshield when you live near saltwater, esp. on the east coast. Try doing the outside of windshield again, even just in a small area, and see if the refractions continue to persist.

On inside windows I like to spray the paper towel first, away from the interior of the car, and then wipe the glass. Keeps the overspray from the top of the dash, which I keep treated with Vinylex. I also use this method to clean TV screens, having read this once in a video magazine. This keeps the liquid from running down the bezel and rusting the shadow mask. Could help keep my dash area from rusting also.
