Lockable Storage Compartment
Hello,
The wood slats on the slide door and the locking mechanism is falling appart. Is there a way to repair this or will I need to get another? Also, if I need to get another one, can I just get the storage compatment Vs the entire center console? And finally, If I do need to get another one, where? I did a search on this subject and came empty handed. Thanks. Oops, sorry, my car is a '95 300D Special Edition with Zebrano wood trim.

The center console storage compartment can be removed from your car, dissassembled by removing four screws, and the wood slats can be reglued to the fabric backer. There are part numbers on the various pieces if you need to order replacements.
If your car has zebrano wood, it is not a special edition, and Carfax frequently lists any 95 E320 or E300 as "Special Edition". ALL Special Edition W124s had burl wood.
