Painting Interior Trim
Hi Guys,
I recently got all new door panels, quarter panels and lots of other odds and ends that I got from the Junkyard and are in perfect condition. I intend to swap out my old crusty sun damaged and cracked interior with all of this. The only problem is that all the good new pieces are Burgundy and my interior is Gray! My plan is to paint them, but before I go testing 20 different types of paint I was wondering if you guys have done anything like this and if you can reccomend a paint to match an early 80's Gray? |

Thanks!

Hmmm...I'm planning to buy from the site you have posted, but Im torn between the Warm Gray 15183 and the med Gray 15393, which you suggested. Based on the picture on the web site the warm gray looks much closer to what I have in my interior and the med gray looks much darker. But who knows how reliable those pictures are. Did MB make two diferent types of Gray (I can't say for sure, but I don't think so)? If you vouch for the Med thats what I'll get. How many cans do you think I should purchase.

15393 was the very close match for my car. 300SD from our era = only one gray.

I used Leatherique dyes for some of the vinyl parts in my SEC. It doesn't absorb into the vinyl, of course, but they will custom match to MB colors and it works pretty well. It's great for leather parts, of course.
