Zaino ZFX is here!

For all those zaino afficianados, ZFX is here. I am so glad, i HATE having to wait 6 to 24 hrs between coats of z-5 or z-2.

My neighbors must think i am crazy waxing my car every day of the week (7 coats equals 7 days, 3-4 coats of z5 and 3-4 coats of z2)

So has anyone used zfx yet?

No prob. I ordered some myself a couple weeks ago. I still havnt got it yet, anyday now. It should be good, just make sure you wash the #314 applicator pad before it dries or else it will get hard and it mighyt scratch your paint job.

Also, i read your post about the weather, today it must be 75 degrees in MO. This is very very suprising in January, lol. I just slapped on a coat of Z5 but because of the 24 hr wait i didnt have time for anymore. My dog recently had puppies so thats keeping me busy along with school and work, no time for car detailing, lol.

Johnson,
How are the pups? Are they, and you, getting some sleep?

I received ZFX this week -- did you? For those who are interested, ZFX comes in a small bottle, which you add by drops to a vial of Z2 or Z5. You have to estimate how much Z2 or Z5 you are going to use that day, since once you add the ZFX accelerator it must be used within 12 hours, as I recall.

Haven't tried it yet -- waiting for spring . . .

Oh my!

"You add the accelerator to a vial and then mix it to use it within 12 hours"

This takes car waxing to a new level!

I don't know about the rest of you, but as much as I love a great shine and am a believer in Zaino; this takes car waxing to a ridiculous level!

I can envision building a add on to the garage which would resemble a laboratory where one would mix all sorts of compounds etc. to improve brake fluid, transmission fluid, motor oil etc. This lab would produce various products by the DIY to finally accomplish all of the things to enhance the appearance and operation of the automobile.

This chemical struggle to finally discover the Holy Grail of car polishing just might be taking the whole process to a level where we do not need to go!

After all this is automobile washing and polishing, ergo detailing!
Is it really necessary to go to this level?

AHHH! Capitalism! I guess spending money keeps or helps the economy!

Keep Rubbing!

I know what you mean! I purchased Zaino after reading all of the posts on this site and others. I am a detailing fanatic and had to get it. I purchased Z1, Z2, Z5, the spray (forgot the number), clay, applicator pads, leather car. Forgot how much I spent, but was well over $80.00.

I'm a little ashamed of myself for spending so much money to just wax my car, but I just can't help myself.

I live in So Cal., but it's been generally in the 50's to low 60's, and I wanted to wait until it was well about 70 degrees before I start applying product. You know, faster drying times, etc.

It's finally warmed up (almost 80 degrees today, can you believe it?), and I might apply some next weekend if the weather holds. It's too damn windy to apply this weekend what with dust flying everywhere.

Hello Steve and everyone else.

Steve, pups are doing ok, only 3 of the 10 made it so thats not good, its her first litter and she dont know how to take care of em, this boy dog hopped the fence and got her preg, my pitt is still a puppy herself, so its kind of one of those deals. I still dont get sleep though its cause of school and work.

I got my zaino zfx a month ago too but i havnt used it either. I am waiting for spring just like you. Cant wait to test it out!

everything seems to be the same except i can work faster. 3 coats per 24 hours. remember not to use Z1 when using zfx, u dont need it n e more.

its good cause in 2 days i can do 6 coats wherease before it would have taken 6 days.

Johnson,
You're really cookin' right along! Imagine how many coats you could do if you took a week off from work . . .

Let me know how zfx works for you.

Whoa !!! Wait a minute

Are you suppose to use Z1 before every coat of Z2 or Z5? I thought you only use Z1 the very first time you put on Z2 or Z5.

Nevermind......

I saw this under the Tips & Tricks section at Zaino's webpage:

Quote:
Note: It is not necessary to use Z-1 Polish Lok™ every time you polish your vehicle. Z-1 Polish Lok™ is recommended the first time you do your vehicle and thereafter, once a year for show cars and twice a year for everyday vehicles.

You are correct, but if you use ZFX and mix with z2 or z5, you will not need Z1 at all. Its somewhere in the zaino web site, maybe under product information or tips and tricks section
