plastic grille insert color
I'm having trouble matching the grey color of my plastic grille insert on my 78 240D. Anyone know of a good color match? I noticed the grille sections between the headlights (behind the clear plastic cover) is a slightly different color grey. I have my grille apart but can't seem to find a good color match in a spray paint. Any ideas? Thanks

Matte black. Makes the chrome stand out.

Colour match
Try getting a spray from your dealer colour code 7181. this is a dull grey metalic colour which would be very close. The colour is from the body mouldings on a c-class 1993-2000 on the silver cars.

I used a hi temp paint from OSH, cast iron gray. Worked great.
