Question care of designo napa leather

Purchased my first Mercedes last month, a 2001 ML55 AMG, with bourbon/cognac designo napa leather. Would like to keep the leather in its showroom condition; but confused about all the cleaners and conditioners available. Can someone tell me the best product(s) to use?

we have good testimony re: leatherique (sp?) products from members here

in any case- - only way I know of to keep a car's interior showroom condition is to keep it unused in the "showroom"

Consider this ....

I've been using Griot's Leather Care product on my black leather seats ... unf^&*#ing believable. Apply with your hands. Buff with a towel or brush. Leaves a 'leather' smell ... reminds me of a new saddle (tack room).

Not oily ... great on the steering wheel too ... nice 'grip'.

Give it a try.

Leatherique has great products, especially for tired leather.

I use Lexol for the car and the wife uses it for her coats and purses. Its also more convenient to get.

I second the Lexol recommendation. Also, Vinylex is great for the dash and other non-leather trim

I've never heard a negative comment on the leatherique.

There is a lot in the archives on this product.

Hide Food is another high-end product. My local MB dealer even sells it.

I have heard mostly good but some bad experiences with Lexol, enough that I wouldn't use it. Do a search on "lexol" and you can read some of the bad stories on this site.

I can second the recommendation of Griot's Garage leather conditioner. It is unbelievable. It is very thick and best applied by hand. I lay it on good and heavy, and then leave the car in the hot sun with the windows rolled up for several hours. The heat opens the pores in the leather and let's the product get absorbed in.

You then buff dry with a towel. It is not greasy.

I forgot to mention that Griots Garage also sells a product call Leather Rejuvenator, which I also use about once / year.

It softens up the leather more than Leather Conditioner, but you can't use it everytime.

It's worth a look.

care of designo napa leather

Thanks for all replies....upholstery in my ML55 is abolutely beautiful...given the money invested...only the best in care of this napa leather was what I was looking for. Griot's Garage was highly recommended, I have tried it, and am now a believer in their products. Thanks again..
