1982 300SD with rear headrests?
On my way home from work I noticed a brown 1982 300SD for sale, and was only $2500. I noticed that it had head rests for the back seats, and found that odd, since I don't remeber seeing them on any of the other's that I have looked at. Anyways, I might call the owener and take a peak at it. The color was also one that I don't remeber seeing on a Benz from that era, so I will find out later maybe...

I used to work at an MB dealer in 1980-81 when the W126 was first showing up. Several came in without the rear head rests as they were supposed to. It is not difficult to install them. You only need to poke the new holes in EXACTLY the right spot. You can get the brackets to support the rear head rests off of any 126 with them. They require crimping at four places and all 126 rear seat frames will accomodate them. I've been thinking about doing it myself now that my two kids are starting to sit a little higher in the rear seat.

Can rear headrests be easily installed in 116's? I know 6.9's had them standard.
Thanks David

I saw a 1974 450SEL with rear headrests, and I've seen a W123 somewhere with rear headrests. I like being able to look through the rear view mirror without obstructions.
